In September of 1787 the Congress of the Confederation put forth the Constitution of the United States of America, which begins with the following preamble; a preamble that contains all the hopes, prayers, and wishes of the founders to make this country one of the greatest countries on Earth.
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common Defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
These words are the true foundation of our country and it is these words which have inspired me to run for the Congress of the United States of America. It is these ideals and promises that are laid out in the preamble that form the overall goals and purpose of the Constitution and governmental bodies are to use when governing our country. These ideals have helped our country to move forward, and it continues to allow our country to move forward. It tells us that we must always be aware of the need to change and move forward as a country and a people. So as the representative of the 2nd Congressional district, I pledge to continue to move toward this vision of a united country, and do my best to achieve these goals.
